Romantic Castles and Palaces in Germany

Neuschwanstein Castle, situated at the foothills of the Alps in the very south of Germany, is likely to be the best known of all of Germany's castles. However, there are many others. Wartburg Castle in the center of Germany, where Martin Luther lived for some time, is only one example of them. There are many more at the banks of the River Rhine, in various towns or the North German Plain. Among them you find fortesses, moated castles and palaces.
